Blade change

I just bought the new Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 with the CTS-XHP steel, but the handle is significantly thinner. Anybody ever tried to put change out the blades and put the new CTS-XHP blade on the old, thicker handle? Would that work?
 
According to what I've read here in this section, blades seem to be directly swappable between old and new models of CS's Tri-Ad knives (Lawman, AK, etc.), so I think the Mini Recon should be, as well. :thumbup:
