What blades are reasonably expected to be able to change after wearing out. I have a few knives that have been broken and worn out and would like to get the blade changed out.

1) Maroon Micarta 501
2) Buck 301 stockman w/'88 date code
3) Var 3/4 110

If I send these in withinstructions to replace the blade, will they be replace or will I be sent a new and unwanted replacement???

Joe told me that they can't replace the blades on the older, two spring 301's if that's what yours is. The newer blades are too different.

"Hello Dave and sorry for the delay in getting back to you!
A new blade will not fit an old 301 handle, the specs are all different. When we switched, the idea was to give each blade its own spring. In doing that, we had to thin them down a bit or else the knife would have gotten a lot fatter."

I don't know for sure about the 110, but they replaced the blade in this old 112 with a new one.

I also have an old 110 somewhere (two pins and rocker pin, don't know the version) with a 2000 something blade in it. I'll try to find a picture.

I had blades changed on some two dot 110's because the blades were destroyed, they were replaced with this years blades. Here is a link to a thread I posted about the blade changes with before and after pics. I recently sent an email to customer service inquiring about a 500 that I'm considering having the blade changed, they responded that it would be $10.

Get ahold of Leroy and inquire from him. If you want to see his work, look for my thread "110 Restoration"
