Just have called Body Coat (reffered by Gator) - they no longer coat blades for individual customer (first guy John Scott was nice enough to drop the phone, but when I call second time and sombody else explained me that 2 yaers ago they stop doing this for individuals only 250 or 500 blades at once).

Unfortunately as they explain nobody else doing this (BC).

Does anybody know who are doing TiNi coating for individuals?

Thanks Vassili.

I know the owner of the Predator custom shop. Really great guy. Jim Ruiz. He used to be an officer for us. His custom camo coated rifles rock!

The teflon coating probably wont be as durable as the bodycote finishes, but should protect against rust. It is similar to Black T finish.

I emailed Bodycoat about 4 times and I've never gotten an answer back. I had to find out through a knifemaker that they only do orders 200 dollars worth at a minimum. It would have been nice if one of the people I emailed would have had the courtesy and professionalism to just send me an email back with "Sorry, we don't do that anymore." So much for common courtesy... :(

When I talk to first guy he just drop the phone! Then second time I called - because I thought may be this is wrong office and somebody else doing this? other guy explain me everything nicely.

But if it is 200 dollars and 20 for the blade - it is not 250 blades minimum as I was told. Hmmm... I don't like to deal with them anymore anyway.

What about Titanium Nitride? Anybody doing this.

2 u812 Thanks!
Predator coating is it better then BT? BT get scratched easily, however Predator offers Teflon/Moly coating with phosphate undercoat.

Thanks, Vassili.

man aint that the truth, i was one of the first people they did this for several yrs ago(had a MOD razorback w/funky coating he offered to fix), what was the guys name, darrel IIRC?? talked to him several times on the phone, "oh anytime ya need something coated......" he offered the service, i didnt even ask if they would coat other things, he brought it up, thought oh how cool so i got several items ready(prob 3-4 months later), and EM'd darrel to tell him i was fixing to ship, never got a reply, so i called SEVERAL times (like 8-10 times minimum) and got voicemail, left a message, no reply, finally looked up my old bill w/bodycotes # and called, was told they dont do it anymore, so sorry, anyway point being darrel coulda answered my calls/returned email/answered voice mail, was kinda jerky imho to just ignore people, and unprofessional to boot, glad i didnt just ship the stuff.........was glad to get the coating fixed on my MOD for free though

Seems like they started making alot of money on it and suddenly became too good to deal with the little guy. Big Head syndrome if I ever saw it.
