Hi all; Just out of curiosity. If I have a Busse with the blade coating and Logo.Is there an easy way to remove the logo printed on the coating without damaging the crinkle coat. What exactly is this coating made of and if the logo cannot be removed,is it possible to get a little of this coating material from a source to cover up the logo myself. No I don't want the send it back to Busse option before it's asked.thanks in advance.

Or you could find someone with an identical blade without logo that might want one with a logo and swap them. Keep an eye out.Just a suggestion. ;)

First off, I have no real idea what I am talking about. :footinmou But I think that the logo is cut in the coating and maybe even the blade with a laser. Something that might work to cover it would be some of the bake on stuff available from Brownells and other places. I don't think the heat goes above 200 degrees so the temper should be fine. Just a thought and please remember the first part of the post:p :D

What, you're supposed to wear it off man!!! What's the matter for you?

Show it you love it, and wear down the mark and coating.

Hey Tombstone.
I bead blasted the crinkle coat off my NOE and the logo is still there etched into the blade. I think it is laser etched.

the coating is baked on, probably about 350 degrees, the logo is lazer engraved and cut through the coating and also in to the metal. the only way you can remove the logo would be to re-coat the whole knife or try to coat the logo which wouldn't look to cool.

trade the logo off for a sterile one or send it back.

Do you have to order them special to have the logo? Almost all the busse knives i've seen are steril with rare exceptions.

I'm not sure but, I think that in the past, some have been done both ways and unless you specifically asked for one or the other, you got what you got. Additionally, I think there may be an attempt to send specifially sterile versions to troops.

Jerry?

thanks for the replies.I just thought maybe I could get a small sample of the coating and just apply a small amount to cover up the logo.I guess I'll just leave it as is.thanks

Have you ever got that to work? If so we could start lending each other our knives and make money off breeding :D

Nothing better than having a necked slab of INFI show up at the door ;)

My Busse's had babies once but they never grew ????
