Hey all. I had a question about my First Production run 880T. I know to some of you, this may be kinda stupid, using such a limited edition knife this much, but i spent good money, on a quality knife. I'm going to use it to its full potential. (which i know some of you will love too)

I was bored at a friends, stabbing things. I tried going through a chair (not metal, plastic), and after 4 tries got it through. These are the results

My guess is that the coating is to dull the finish of the blade so it doesn't shine in your face. I'm not sure how much i care that i did this. I might call buck and see if there anything they can do, but to me, there battle scars.

Flame away if you mad at me for doing this, it was fun, because i was the only one that made it through the chair :D

Like Larry The Rat said...the only

you're gonna get from me is the lack of action pics :)

Hi MW,

Welcome to the Buck forum!!! That is a very cool tool you have there as a user. I don't think that is a coating on your blade....looks like it was bead blasted to give it the non-glare finish. You just rubbed of some of the ruff blasted finish to the creamy center (shinny steel). As it is a user and will continue to get rub marks I would continue to go for it....just don't pull a messy and try to beat it through stuff till it breaks.

ENJOY IT
but you realy do need need to show picts of the chair now that you told us of it you know ...;)

click on my photo bucket link to see mine....:D

Good work!!!

Go for it!!!

And, the other 499 guys who have one are hoping that this chair stabbing catches on and lots more of these get all scratched up.

:D

Actually, most of the "First Production Run" knives are never going to gain a heck of a lot of value.....at least not in your lifetime.

Have fun!!!

Heh maybe ill start bringing my digital camera more often when i go out. The thing about the chair was, it was reallyyyyyyyyyyyyy old. The plastic had hardened and crystallized, it had no flexibility to it. I stabbed a garbage can at work today.

hummm maby your nick should be staber!?!? hee heehee

My next knife would probably end up being a high end strider. Something like an SMF. I know eventually i would try and go through a car door with it.

It looks like you figured out a cool way to get rid of a bead-blast finish, without sandpaper, in no time at all.:D
