blade coatings again.

I know that there are several types of black blade coatings out there.I am wondering if any of them are safe or unsafe to use for food preparation.I seen a Cold Steel add showing some fillet knives of Carbon V and they were coated.That indicates that theirs must be safe but are all of them?Thanks

Teflon coatings, such as the BT2 coating used by benchmade should be safe considering they are basically the same as the coating lining teflon pots and pans. As far as the rest, I'm not sure, though my assumption is that they are safe, considering they have been used for countless years. But I'm not an expert, unlike some others here on the forums
