Hey,

I was wondering, I have a Kershaw Leek 1660CKTST and when the blade is resting in the handle, it is right up tight against one of the sides. When it opens, you can slightly see a line, that if not wiped of everytime, would become one heck of a scratch...

So if anyone can give me tips or advice on this or how to fix it, it would be much appreciated :)

id call kershaw, sounds like it wasnt made to tolerance. im not to sure how you would go about fixing it and not lose the side to side tolerance tight

A common method used to center a blade is to tighten and/or loosen screws. First thing to try is to tighten the pivot screw on the side of the knife that the blade touches. This may move the blade closer to center. If this does not work try loosening the handle and pivot screws. Tighten the pivot in the same manner to move the blade before tightening the handle screws. None of these screws needs to be super tight, just snug enough to prevent any play in the knife. If this fails try taking the knife down and clean and polish (metal polish and paper towel should work) all bearing surfaces in the pivot areas of the blade and handles. You can polish the washers too if they are metal. If not just clean and oil them. I don't remember if my Leek has metal washers off hand. While reassembling put a small drop of your favorite lube between all bearing surfaces(washers, scales). Use the above tightening routine to align the blade. If these methods don't work then send it in to Kershaw, they will take care of you. These methods have worked for me 95% of the time when I have alignment problems and will also smooth out the action of the knife. Good Luck!:)

SOLEIL~ I tried it and it worked! I got it so that the blade doesnt have any play, and also so its not touching one of the sides:D (I won't forget this) thanks a lot!
P.S. SR_matt: thanks for the input too! :)
