I've got a 3 blade stockman that I would like a lot more if it was was a 2 blade (opposite ender). I know I have seen references to members that do that; but I can't remember the names.
I've had some disappointing experiences with a couple of the people that modify traditionals (not interested in naming or discussing); so I'm asking for recommendations.

It's a fair bit of work deleting one of three stockman blades - not as simple as it sounds!!
If you want one large main blade opposite one smaller blade, on one spring, there is a lot of adaption, and modification to do!!

I was thinking it would be on 2 springs; but, admittedly, I know nothing of the process. If it's more trouble than it's worth; I guess the knife will stay in the box.
Thanks, waynorth waynorth

ea42 ea42 I have the 2015 forum knife...I appreciate it for what it is; but that knife isn't really relevant to what I am asking. It already has two blades, and it is a single spring knife.
I just grabbed 3 stockman knives from my office - the type of knife about which I am asking - all of them have 3 blades, none of them are single spring (unless I'm totally misunderstanding what I'm looking at, which is entirely possible).

While I accept the various comments as well intended, and now understand that what I was hoping to have done may be more of a project than I realized (despite having seen a number of posts about it having been done by/for others), let's try to work on the same page.
I know I could just buy a knife with the configuration I want (and, if I see one, I might)...but that isn't why I posted this thread. I asked for recommendations for craftsmen that do this type of work.

<sigh> Maybe this was just a bad idea from the start. I haven't actually tried carrying a stockman in recent years (the last time I pocketed one was probably 20 yrs ago). I guess I should start there...who knows - maybe I'm still young enough to learn a new trick; and old enough to actually appreciate it.

*Realistically, probably not; but I'm going to try to try, anyway*

Then there's the 2018 BF two bladed stockman...

Ask one of those modders.
I'm seeing posts here that don't make sense to me, but then I'm not very bright.

pjsjr pjsjr Yes, there is - I was a member & participated in the polls... I'm extremely picky when it comes to stag & elk, and I didn't trust that I would get one that I would like.
I'm also aware of the recent BOTM, before anybody mentions that.

Again, I'm not looking to buy a new knife - especially one that is not readily available. I was hoping to have a knife I currently own modified, and looking for recommendations for craftsmen that do that sort of thing. So far, only mrknife mrknife has come through for me.

(I've been fighting the urge to close this thread... I'm leaving it open in the hopes that another name or two will be added; but I think it's on borrowed time)

One my large case stockman, the sheepfoot and spey are on a single spring. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you want, but it sounds like you want the same setup as the sheepfoot and spey blades and do not want to buy a new knife.
