Blade detents.

I have searched and searched, but can not find a picture of the detent on the Umnum. I am curious to see how deep it is. Also, I came across a thread that showed Sebenza blades with holes drilled in them as the detents instead of the tiny crater CRK always used. Are all the newer Sebs being made this way? if thats the case, then I'm curious to know how much blade retention is present on the Sebs now.

Any pics of an Umnum detent?

thanks,
JK

standard issue on the zaan...no thru holes....you can actually see it w/o taking the knife apart.

To me, blade retention is one of the most overlooked IMPORTANT functions of a folding knife. My newest Seb has the "through" hole. It does seem like it holds stronger. The ONLY real interest I have in the "Nummy" is that large ball/detent. I wonder if it works better than the Seb's?? Any input from Nummy owners would be appreciated!

Ive got 2 lg. classics and 2 zaans(1 of ea.).the detent on the zaans is much

much stronger(better)...as you probably know on a zaan the detent pulls the blade into

the handle as opposed to a firm closing on a classic.

I know the detent is great on a zaan. I carry mine almost everyday so Ive

gotten used to it(detent) and dont notice it at all.

Hope this helps.

Craig
