blade engraving

I am trying to get a microtech fillet knife engraved as a gift. (just a simply name and date type of engraving) no retailers that I have contacted will engrave the knife. Can anyone offer suggestions on who to go to? I've heard that it can be hand engraved, machine engraved, even laser engraved. I live in Colorado.

Any advice or artisan recommendations would be appreciated!
