Newbie to the Busse section. Can someone tell me if the sage finish on the Active Duty and Meaner Street is the same as the desert olive finish on the ASH 1?

Thanks

Same coating different names.
That particular coating replaced Desert Tan powder coat which was my personal favorite coating..
The sage is now a crinkle coat which does not appeal to me at all..

UJ,

Which coating is more durable the powder or crinkle? I assume the crinkle from what I have seen.

The crinkle coat is slightly more durable. But it still can wear fast depending on use.

The tan powder coat scratched really easily. Once You start using it everything smooths out and seems to be more wear resistant in the long run.
Here are some pictures of two blades I have used. That would be nice if Jerry brought back the Orig. Desert Tan...

I used this mil BATAC on only 3 separate occasions. Batoning light chopping.

I used this Desert Satin Jack on about 10+ separate occasions for Batoning, and light-medium chopping.

Eventually both blades were stripped.
The BAtac was sold and The DSJ is staying with me..

I agree, Tan is my favorite coating. Don't like the crinkle look, esp on the sage/DO, don't like it on the Black much either. The only coating I might get now is OD.
