Hi guys
I am new to the Blade forum and am just getting into knife collecting ,I live in New Zealand and I have always been a gun guy
but have always liked knives too and have decided to pursue the knife collection side of things as the ol Firearms are becoming to pricey
and i'm happy with what i have (only a Rem 870 Tac left).
Anyway my first knife i got for Hunting and camping duty was a gerber LMF2 ,i know some people give it (Gerber) a bad rap but i gotta say its been
a pretty good companion, However i have just bought a Becker BK2 and its one sweet knife(think i need the whole range now ,i literally only opened the box tonight so it hasn't been used yet,i may get a second one for use and keep one for collection,
I may have gotten a bit excited and bought 2 more knives online last nighthopefully i have made good choices ,i'll post pics of them when they arrive.
I have a Fallkniven F1 on lay-by at the mo so i hope thats a good member for my collection .
Anyway i will leave it at that for now and i really look forward to sharing stuff and reading up and learning on this Forum, and hope i can be pointed in the direction of good quality knives (i'm a fixed blade guy too) thanks for taking time to read this novel and i'll show some pics soon if anyone is keen,

Cheers guys

Abandon all hope, ye who enter...

Welcome to the forums! The Becker and Fällkniven are excellent choices. Also take a look at Bark River and ESEE; other often recommended brands in that price range.

Welcome, Jerry! You are off to a good start, whose total value will dwarf your gun collecting habit. However, you are in good company. ;)

Hi Tsujigiri
cheers for the reply, one of the 2 knives currently on route to my house is the Esee 3p mil ,such a beautiful looking knife ,and also i hear they are
top notch in the field also,i kinda bought that one for concealed carry , plus i just love a good knife plain and simple,I paid $266 shipped for it (NZD of course)
but we still do pay a lot for gear down here,i mean if i could get one shipped from the states it would cost me $130,however NZ laws don't allow,
while i'm at it the other knife i picked up is a CS Recon Scout SK-5 steel, they retail for $299 and i got it of a desperate seller for $180 off our version of E-Bay ,the knife is new and unused so i figured its a sweet deal,
i will get some pics of my collection thus far up as soon as i get them together ,where should i post my pics?

Hi mate
Yes i have a fear that my knife wants and needs may become excessive as i slide deeper into
the realms of quality and price(I saw a beautiful Fallkniven knife (NL5cx) it was $2700,WOWZERS,but hey you only live once right ,and i have also quit drinking alcohol (Bored of it)
so have more money and brain cells to spend .
Have a good one mate

Greetings and welcome to Bladeforums:)
I am sure that you are going to love it here.

Where in NZ do you live? Let me offer you my condolences now about the RWC results............:D

Steven

Hi Alfaholic and thank you,
I live in Mount Maunganui on the North Island ,you should google it ,its a beautiful place,
in regards to the RWC ,i'm not picking the AB's to win ,i'm thinking SA or OZ ,but we shall see

Pardon me for the possibly stupid question but how do you become a Beckerhead Member,
i can't put down my new BK-2

Wow it looks beautiful. My brother is in Wellington and I have done the drive from Auckland several times. Next time I am there I must have a look at the Bay of Plenty.

It looks like you are making a good start there to your knife collection. We look forward to hearing how you go and seeing some pics of the knives in action....

All the best and I wish NZ and the AB's all the best for the next month;)

I really appreciate that mate ,and if your ever in NZ and if you come to the Mount you will have
to come round for a coffee .

Hey Jerry, congrats on joining BF and buying a great knife. I love my BK2. For all the Beckerhead info you might need, click here. Most users either use Flickr or Photobucket to store and then post photos... you can also store and post photos on BF if you get a paid membership.

Also, make sure you read the BladeForums rules carefully.
