Has anyone heard from the Blade Forum members from down under?

I pray, they and their families are OK.

Have had my head in the sand over the last few days, banning spammers by the hundreds (along with Esav and the gang), putting in a little project at work and trying to close the year on the goat grooming shops.

Hope our brothers and sisters in OZ are faring well. Some major water can be devastating and this one looks nasty.

It is so hard to plan for something like this. Hindsight is hypocritical. A continent coming off years of drought getting hit with biblical floods. You can't build dams in the sand when you've hardly got water enough for the crops.

Australia has a strong society and economy. They will rebuild, perhaps with a few more safeguards. They may need help at this time. I read that the Salvation Army is in a position to work with them.

Hard times. They've shown a lot of hard work and heroism already. I hope the worst of the emergency ends soon.

I got distant kinfolk living there. (so distant all we share is a name.)

All I know for sure is that GAJINOZ seems to be OK.

just to get an idea of the severity the town of Toowoomba is on top of the Great Dividing Range -not a place that one would expect a flood- those raging torrents with cars getting washed down the streets were caused by the sheer volume of rain that fell. approx 10 inches in an hour at one stage. sick of the media circus that is hovering for that shot of someone getting washed away tho.

My thoughts and prayers to everyone in Queensland. I have family on the Gold Coast but fortunately they are all fine and unaffected.

It is hard to imagine the sheer size of the area that has been devastated. An area the size of France and Germany combined.

The Aussies are a tough lot and they will pull through........
