Does anyone know what other decent knives i can get with a guard like or similar to that, i like that i can just drop the fixed blade into my back pocket while im out using it (work the yard anytime like that cause back pocket imo is the easiest access to my blade)

Not too expensive like 40 bucks at most (cheaper better) im not sure what they are, ik the knife in my picture is a paring knife i use at work for food and other stuff (obviously sanitized in the sanitation center before i cut any foods with it) and i was looking to buy my own just to have (im not too into using stuff they give out because u cant mess it up or they wanna deduct from ur pay the cost of it, that and other employees can just come and take and use it and there aint much u can do because they arent given to you personally just there to use.)

Now you can buy them from the store but i dont want mine to be identical to theres cause they i cant tell the difference and itll probablly end up misplaced or lost.

a lot of fixed blades come with a sheath...if thats what you're asking. but then again I'm not too sure what you're asking.

are you asking the names of some fixed blade knives that come with sheaths? or are you looking for more sheaths that will fit this particular knife??

im asking for knives that come with reuseable guards not sheaths, sheaths are too big and bulky

Call it what you want, but that is a sheath you're describing.

there is kinda an in between category....neck knives sheaths. like say the izula sheath. it's a sheath, but thin and small and takes little room up in your pocket. like a guard but can do double duty as a sheath. any neck knife sheath is gonna be close to what your asking....i think? how big of knives are you asking about?

4 inches give or take a few tenths

The only ones I've seen with those are kitchen knives. I'm sure if you go to a restaurant supply or asian food market you'll be able to find some. If you have a knife already you want a new cover for you could have someone bend you a minimal kydex cover or you could make your own. A lot of guys make blade covers for their machetes by heating a length of pvc and pressing it flat.

im actually wanting to get something similar to that witch indeed is a kitchen knife, its just i live in nj and i have absolutely no idea of where there is even a knife shop around here to go too, justknives101 but they blow something fierce

why don't you get a crkt M21 -14sfg?
It's a folder but can wave open, blade is 4".

Costs around 40$ less than the Aus8 version M21 - 14 SF but performs the same

Just go kydex my man. Kydex sheaths at least have retention. That "blade guard" will not stay on the blade when moving around a lot.

dont want a folder gets too much crap stuck inside it for what ima use it for.

I just had a thought. A knife I use in the kitchen a lot is a mora. It has a minimal sheath that would be perfect for you. Look hard at those man they're about exactly what you want. Talk to 42blades, he'll hook you up for all of12-13 bucks plus shipping. Moras are a hell of a knife to boot. :D

Super light. I'd say in the 4 ounce range. It's lighter then my Spyderco Military. Actually I take it on hikes in the summer because of it's weight. :D

If you are looking for your own version of a paring knife with a blade guard, try Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohls, Walmart or any of the big box stores that sell kitchen cutlery and flatware. They always have those paring knives with the blade guards for short money. I just saw ones at Target with different colored handles and blades. They also have a ceramic bladed paring knife with a blade guard.

Otherwise I will have to echo Shotgun's suggestion to get a Mora for an inexpensive fixed blade knife.

Hmm... Cold steel Mini Tac Skinner? blade is a bit over 3 inches

The Cold steel pro guard has a 4" blade

Both are in ur price range
