Blade is coming and I the credit cards are afraid, very afraid. With that being said, I have a great opportunity to get a discount on a firearm. I can have anything from S&W (except custom shop, performance center, or Lew Horton) or Springfield Armory at a discount off of MSRP. I've also been offered $425 for my current XD 9, sans holsters, mags, etc. Which I could replace for @$350.

For example a XD in .45 would run @$400 delivered (shipping, transfer fees, etc). A loaded SA 1991 @$600. Socom I @$1150. S&W's 325 Night Guard would be @$700, a 340PD @$575, the Classic 22 @$635.

I currently own the following:

XD 9mm 4"
Colt Agent .38
AR 15 carbine, flat top with flip up sight, free floated, with 6 position stock
Remington 870 Police with rifle sights, improved cylinder, & Knoxx Cop Stock

I have to make a decision by the end of the month. It's almost too good a deal to pass up, but Blade is coming....

I'd like to hear from the Hogs on this one:

Don't buy anything (save for Blade), buy an XD (9 or 45), buy a SA 1911, buy a S&W revolver (.38/.357 or .45), buy the SocomI?

Thanks,

GregB

I am going to Blade so it dont matter to me what you do!!:p

JK Greg, but the less people I have to trammple on my way to the trough the better(for them).:D

Well if you don't get that .45 XD for $400, please hook me up. I would be all over it!!!:D

Sell the XD 9 for $425 and buy the XD 45 for $400. You are not out any cash, upgraded guns and did not use any Blade money.

If you could get the SOCOM I thats what I would do...They arent even around where I am at and the last one at a store that had one in stock wanted $2,400.00 for it....I have been looking to pick one up myself. The night guard revolver is about the nicest morden wheel gun (that isnt a custom) that you can get!!! I wouldnt mind one of those either......and if you dont have a high end .45 Springfield makes some sweet ones..... I am sure there is going to be some cool stuff at blade as well. But a man only needs 1 knife and 1 gun. The rest are just for show :0

With prices like that, you should open up your own dealership. :D

This is a perk for SO's working a prize table match that I've been helping with since it started (my 5th year, if I work this one). Guns are for "our personal use". Next year this match will actually be a two state IDPA Sanctioned Match. My wife's birthday always falls during this match, which is a Thursday set up, Friday shoot, work on Saturday deal. Usually we stay over in a hotel on Friday with a lot of driving (@2.5 hours each way) on Thursday. Last year I took her out to dinner on Thursday night for her birthday, and she seemed okay with that, because that's about all we do for birthdays. I asked her if she wanted me to skip it this year, as they really needed me next year, but had offered to let me beg off this year. It's her birthday, so it's really up to her, but she's usually cool with it. If I don't work, no discount, so she's got to let me know before the end of the month.

I've had a couple of XD .45's and I like them, but I shoot a bit much IDPA to be able to afford to use the .45. Could go with my little .38, but last time I checked the going rate .38's were running @$70 more per 1,000 than the 9's and that was the best I could do. The Socom is tempting, but I definitely wouldn't be able to afford to shoot it very much any time soon (@$.60 a round last time I checked).

I would definitely grab the Socom. I love those. That would be a great price on one.

I just bought a Desert Eagle, so I'm hurting too. But, Blade is where it's at.

If it were me - I'd get a Smith & Wesson MP 15 Rifle in 5.45X39 caliber - super cheap, available and dangerous ammo.

Wife's okay with me working the match, so I can buy a pistol. With a little over a week to go, I've narrowed it down to either an XD or an M&P, in either 9 or 45. I may sell my XD this weekend, if so, I'll buy another 9. If not, I may go with a .45. I like to buy American, so I like the idea of the M&P, but it'll cost me $100 more than a comparable XD. As for the Socom, if I was gonna drop a grand right now, I think I'd rather have a Ruck (cheaper to feed:D). I'm leaning toward a M&P 9mm Compact or the XD 9mm compact. What do you Hogs think?

I appreciate it, but I think I'll hold onto it for now:D I haven't even got a chance to shoot it yet. Sad, but true.

Keep in mind that .45 ammo is much higher than 9mm.
While I would not be without a SA1911 I wish I had gone with a G19 over the G23 I have.

Actually, I traded the ARK for an 870p, and have a second coming as well. Now I just gotta get rid of the Mossberg. :D

At least around here, 9mm ammo and 45 is extremely hard to find. Don't rule out the .40S&W round. More affordable than 45 and more punch than 9mm.
