hey guys this is my first post and just wondering if there is a blade length limit in ontario canada or if its a over all length limit. Ive heard from some people say that its only 5 inches to 6 inches overall max but some people say that its not so im really confused i just want to know if its blade length thats limited or if its overall and how long. currently i carry a eskabar so im just wondering if thats illegal or not.

None. There is no limit on blade length.

In Canada, the only criminal law is federal. Some municipalities may pass by-laws limiting blade length but I don't think there are any in Ontario.

Nothing to worry about in terms of blade length.

But the law in Canada gives police great leeway to use their judgment. A knife that is inappropriate to the context you carry it in is more likely to be viewed as a weapon and confiscated. Carrying that knife while hunting in a rural area is one thing, carrying it on Yonge Street is another.

What welsh said.

Also, NEVER claim your knife is for self defense. If a cop asks you if you are carrying a weapon, say no.
