Blade length measuring?

On the new line, is the length of the blade measured from the handle scales to the tip, or from where the blade grind starts to the tip?

Does it depend on model?

I think it was said before, but I forget and cant find it anywhere

I seem to remember Jerry said the measurement is made from the handle scales to the tip. It is posted in a thread somewhere.

IIRC, he said that on knives without guards, they were measured from the scales for legal purposes.

ugh... had to gut the content of this post because im an idiot who doesnt know how to read the entire post line before responding...

the micarta appears to be almost inline with the front of the talon hole, so for stabing purposes, it would be a good mark to measure from...
