Haven't quite finished editing all the 0888 pics yet, but here is a pretty good chunk of them.
The ZT 0888 won Blade Magazine 2012 Overall Knife Of The Year. If you had the opportunity at Blade to handle one you would not have been surprised by that result.
The 0888 was an in house design. The handles are titanium slabs, almost better described as blocks of Ti. These are not feather-weight, milled out, skeletonized Ti handles; these are solid, with a surprising heft.
I say surprising, because you just won't expect it after handling the other Ti ZT's and the 0777. The other knives are so light, you just expect this one to be similar. I don't think it is actually heavy, it just feels pleasingly solid.
It flips open with a really nice thunk.
The handle is really angular, but it still has smooth curves and swells, which make it really comfortable to hold.
The over head shot of the clip shows the screw that holds the clip in position. By loosening the screw, the clip can slide to the other side exposing the mirror of itself. No removing screws and flipping the clip to the other side.
There were three different versions of the knife. A solid dark grey Maxamet version (coated blade), a lighter S110V composite blade, and a black version (I think also Maxamet, but I didn't spend much time with that one).
Hopefully Jim will drop in and share some of what went into getting this amazing knife to Blade.
In any case here are the pics.
