Anyone purchase and try out the Blade Magazine DVD that Krause is offering?

I have quite a number Blade magazines going back to the early 80’s, and it would be nice to make room for other books on my shelves, but still have access to what is in those issues.
I am just a little reluctant to give up those “hardcopies” for a digital replacement, but it if is searchable, that could be handy.
For a while I was working on a searchable database of all the knife articles in the magazines I have, but gave up on that a few years ago.
I wanted to know other’s thoughts on this DVD as a useful way to keep back issues, etc.

Thanks,
Brome

I'm going to buy this later this summer, or sooner if I need to. I only have Blade mags for 3+ years, and they're already taking up too much room. If I get it sooner, and no one else comments on it, I'll let you know how they work out.

On another forum a while back, I saw a review of the disks that Wolfe Publishing out out for their RIFLE and HANDLOADER magazines. They worked really well, were cross-referenced very efficiently, and the only complaint is that you can't sit out on the patio with a beer and read the hardcopy magazines. (That is, unless you keep the HC's for that purpose, and use the disks for reference only.)

thx - cpr

I have the DVDs. They are searchable once you have opened an issue. But I have not figured out how to search them all before you open any. Maybe someone else can give us both some insight. I think it is a good purchase for $40 if that helps. They are of course in .pdf format so I put them all on my memory stick that I take everywhere. When I get bored at work or whatever I open one up and look through it.
