I just heard that BLADE MAGAZINE will be adding an extra 20,000 copies with the November coverdate. They will be available at WalMarts! The issue will be on newsstands September 12th. Just a heads up to those of you who don't have a sub and end up driving around trying to find an issue! :D

I've seen Tactical Knives at Walmart, Wegmans, even a 7-11 up in Hampstead MD, but I had to search high and low for any Blade magazines. Hopefully this will get the magazine out.

I'd say one reason for the higher printing is because they're flooding the market with special offers to subscribe for $9.95 a year. I got one yesterday. I wouldn't take it for free.

I'm going to let my subscription just die off, and I think its just one big advertisement, except for Kim Breeds and Ed Fowlers articles. I still enjoyed it, but not enought to re up. I would take it for free though :) .

I've gotten more info from my basic membership here, in a month, than I've gotten in years of magazines. I agree, they're all little more than catalogs... except you PAY for the privilege of reading the ads.

i use to read blade pretty often back in the 90's and it was pretty good what happened??? well gibsonfan is right you can learn more here in a week than a year of most knife mags. later, ahgar

good i think that my time here has been well spent. you guys are great thanks for sharing information openly... when it comes I will pass it just the same just let it flow on out.

Bladeforums is great...a HUGE treasure trove of information...

but you can't take it into the bathroom!!:D

Perfect or not, it's a knife magazine with cool pics. Hence, I'll still be subscribing.

Sorry, but that's where I get most of my reading done... :D

Blade, TK, KI... Scale Modeller, BASS, Cheaper-Than-Dirt, Sportsman's Guide... I can usually tell how bad my housekeeping skills are by the size of the stack NEXT to the loo...

I've got a dedicated laptop with wireless and wired connections for the head. Hell that's where I am now. :D
As for BLADE, I look forward to getting new issues. BFC and BLADE make a combination that is very informative. Since my subscription was a gift anyway, price is a non-issue for me. At $9.95 though it's a pretty good deal.

I guess they don't love me, I just a flyer in the mail for a $19.95 subscription.

Dave - the offer that is out there IS 19.95. Mike either read his renewal offer wrong, or he is just remembering it wrong, or whatever. I called the subscription line and there is "no such offer" out there. Either way, the reason for the extra 20,000 is actually because Blade is partnering with WalMart for a special "hunting" promotion they are doing.

The offer was a $9.95 special offer for prior subscribers(me). I didn't read it wrong. It was kind of funny as they compared it to the cover price and how much I'd save which was astronomical, and also overinflated.
