I'm looking for a partly serrated knife and the Mini Covert seems to be a good candidate. I made a little research on the web and found that some websites say the blade is made of 154CM and other say AUS6. I care about material.

Anyone can give me some information?

I have one .It's AUS-6A. I called Gerber about 5 months ago about their "steel" listings. Everything else they have, unless otherwise stated, is 420HC. Someone recently said that Gerber should stick with babyfood. I agree. ;)

Mine's AUS6 too. Considering the knife it's patterned after this one is a real dissapointment. The only good thing I can say about it is that it's compact. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for the one I have. I don't recommend it.

So I won't buy it. I emailed some of those websites who say the material is 154CM to ask for confirmation. No one replied so far.

i saw some mini coverts at walmart recently, and they were like $39.99 or so IIRC

Considering you can get a Delica for that kind of money there's absolutely no reason to waste money on this thing.

I feel bad I bought mine cheap sometimes because by doing so I encouraged Gerber to keep making these lousy things.

I've gotta say thanks to you all. I was also thinking about buying one, I found online for $33.99. Now scratching it off the list of blades buy this year.

i was looking in a old tactical knives earlier, and they tested the mini coverts when they first came out and the knives pictured said ATS34 on the blade, i bet they didnt make many of those

I agree...The Gerber Mini-Covert/Covert is a POS, and you would do ALOT better with a Spyderco Delica, or a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian.

thanks, i was near to buy one today, for 30 usd, i liked the design ,but my suspects are confirmed...

ehh, i'll buy another spydie
