Blade movement on my Super CQC-7

I got a used Emerson Super CQC-7 off eBay about a month and a half ago. So far I've been satisfied with it. The lock has never failed on me and I find the tip very good for prying (mostly due to the chisel grind). Since the Super CQC-7 is rather large for ECD I'm considering getting a Mini CQC-7

Recently, I went online to read a few reviews on Emersons and I came across a thread over here. Much of this community heaped a particularly heavy amount of criticism on Emersons (along with Striders). Most of the complaints seem to focus on:

-Liner lock fail
-Weak lockbars
-Blade play or wobbling

I have noticed a bit of blade movement with on my CQC-7, since the blade wobbles laterally and touches the liner if pushed when the knife is closed. Depending on how much I tighten the pivot screw, the blade may or may not wobble when open. However, if I tighten the screw as much as possible, even though it eliminates any movement, opening the knife becomes a lot more difficult.

I haven't really been too concerned with this, since it hasn't really interfered with my use of the knife, but is this some sort of defect?

I've got a number of Emersons, some bought new, some used. None of them have any play, or indication of a lock failure. All lock up very solidly. I recently bought some 10 year old knives, even some older benchmade emersons, and they lock up solidly too...despite obvious indications of use.

My Horseman had a little bit of up and down blade play, I sent it to Emerson and they fixed it right away, hassle free

Round trip was two weeks. Excellent service!
