I recently came across a bottle of oil I owned that I had bought to prevent rust on a high carbon knife. I had forgotten all about it. It’s Yoshihiro Tsubaki oil. I thought I’d put a drop on my Damascus Mnandi, and I’m glad I did. I used one small drop total, and it gives the knife an impressive sheen. Apparently this stuff is good if you want to use your knife for food prep since it’s non-toxic. Here’s a picture. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

I've noticed the pattern on my damascus CRK really shines through when it's wet, almost looks brand new. A light coat of oil "permanentizes" this effect, at least until it's wiped off.
