Are the new Sebenza blade pivots designed to allow a blade opening tension adjustment ? With my two other Sebenzas, I always totally tight the pivot screw and everything is working well. With my new Sebenza, I have to tight the screw just a little bit or the blade stay closed...

Do you think my knife is awry ?

I've had this happen to me when I take one apart for cleaning and then reassemble. If you don't get the washers correct, they will pinch and the blade will not open.

Try taking it apart and carefully reassemling it first.

Thank you very much for your quick answer. Unfortunately, I already was trying to take it apart then reassemble a few times... :(

Definitely sounds like a pinched washer. I think we've all made that mistake before. If it's boogered-up too badly, you can order replacements from CRK for very little. Good luck!

Professor.

Just look at teds how to and it shows the proper reasembly. I used to try the sandwich method and it sometimes pinched a washer , so now i do it by the book. Good luck and nice sebbie by the way.

I was trying different ways to reassemble the Sebenza, and I'm sure the washers are correctly positioned (they are intact, I didn't notice any pinching trace). There is an other strange thing : the blade spacer doesn't fit very well the blade hole. I have to push it strongly to put it in its place. I even noticed the blade hole is not perfectly round... I guess I will have to send my knife to CRK...

Same problem with my 2004 annual wood inlaid.

Not a crimped washer either as I've taken it a apart and put it back together several times to no avail.

I have to send it back sometime soon.
