Blade play in my AFCK

I got a great deal on an AFCK a couple of months ago. I've used it very little but the liner has moved almost all the way across the tang. From what I understand, titanium liners wear quickly only to a point and then will not wear any further. Is this true?
My AFCK now exhibits up-and-down blade play. Why is this the case when the liner isn't all the way across the blade tang yet?

Is there any type of at-home operation I can do to lessen the blade play or will this have to be sent in to BM? What will they do to fix it?

Finally, besides being a pain in the butt, what's wrong with blade play? Does it increase the chance of accidental disengagement of the lock or is it just sloppy? Usually I retire knives with blade play but I don't want to do that in this case so is there any danger here?

Thanks in advance.

If you've got vertical blade play I would send it back to BM for repairs, horizontal an usually be adjusted, but in my personal opinion vertical play is nothing to take a chance with. Someone else here might have a way to correct the problem, but I don't know one off the top of my head, only been successfull repairing side-side movement.

I never had a problem with vertical play on mine, but a friend had some serious play!!! Sometimes a liner that is off by a few thousandths of an inch gets through and causes it to have the play. He sent it back and got a new liner. I suggest you do the same, it should be covered under warranty repair.
