Blade play of my new Carnivour

In examining my new BT2 coated Carnivour, I found some minor but quite noticable blade play (locked open position). Is there any thing I can do to fix this problem?

I have two Carnivours, both have the standard "tin-roof" blades. Both had a little play in them (up & down in open position)when they first arrived, and I almost sent them back.
Anyway, as I played with them, they "wore-in" somehow.
Each actually tightened up with initial use (50-100 cycles).
Must be a characteristic of the "rolling lock" cam action.
Anyway, play with it for awhile and see if it get's better-mine did.

From a manfacture this is never said. Snap the bad mother open ten to fifteen times and set the lock. I start with the blade at 90 degrees and wham. That usualy sets the lock.
If that dosn't work let us know.

Hi Bill, I've cycled it over 100 times and the play still exists.

Hi Bob, I've whamed it over 20 times following your recommendations, and the play still remains. What should I do now?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Ted,
Something is wrong.
Mine lock up like a safe.
Get a hold of Christina or Bob at REKAT. They are good people.

BTW: The clip is off both knives. I hate those things anyway.
Have you tried tightening the pivot pins ?

I received a replacement Carnivour earlier today, 10/7/99, within 6 days after I mailed back the knife.

The new one locks up as tight as a vault. REKAT's responsiveness and service is second to none.

Thank You REKAT and Best Wishes!

Sincerely,
Ted
