Blade play on custom shop 110

I just bought my first Buck 110 a few weeks back from Pete's. The knife arrived today and it has quite a bit of side to side and up and down blade play. Is this normal for a 110? I am really impressed with the Asian buffalo scales and the ultra sharp BG-42 blade, but I have nevered owned a knife that cost more than $50 with this much play when opened.

Thanks,
Kevin

I feel your pain.;)
I just recieved a knife from Pete's with a faulty damascus blade.
It looks like they sent some knives out without inspecting them properly.
I've tried calling them but they don't answer their phone. I hope they will be in next week.
Good luck.

I'm glad to know that this knife is not par for the course. I have been collecting knives for quite some time, but just recently became interested in more traditional blades. I was afraid that the play I am experiencing is normal for a Buck lockback.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,
You can send the knife in for us to fix, under warrantee. There is often "some" side to side blade play on 110's and 112's. We have a range of acceptability due to the tolerances of the blade, rocker and blade bushing.
