Let me preface this by saying that I love this knife. In fact I bought two of them. It's almost the perfect knife, except it has some vertical blade play.
I have learned over the years to never buy a Benchmade sight unseen, and despite the bad publicity their quality control has received over recent years it appears to have had little affect on their business practices.
The first knife I bought over the internet. It had very slight vertical blade play, which frankly pissed me off on a $360 knife and I'm considering sending it back to Benchmade. I have 5 other Benchmades and none of them have any blade play.
For the second knife I actually went to a local shop to get it. I literally looked at all of their inventory and out of the 8 knives they had, only one had zero vertical blade play.
I love Benchmade, but they must be having some serious problems if they are letting these sorts of problems leave the factory, especially in a top of the line Limited Edition. These knives are supposed to represent the best of what Benchmade has to offer. Rant over.
