Blade polishing

Greetings Y'all,
I asked about this in my post on the 20" Villager, but I think that it got buried in the other stuff. I was just wondering what some of you 'veterans' of the knife scene use to properly finish your blades and handles. The polish on the Villager is not quite up to par, and the Karda and Chakma definitely need some serious work. I've done some sanding on these and they look better, but was just wondering what to use for the mirror finish that the standard HIs come with. Thanks

No,
I have a motor, but haven't set it up yet. I do have a Dremel tool, but that's it.

Get your grinder going with a set of buffing wheels and your life will be much easier. You will need about 3 or 4 buffing wheels for various grit rouge. Don't mix rouge grit on the same wheel. Start with a course grit and work your way up to the finest grit you can find. You will get that mirror finish you want. A word of warning. Don't overheat the blade or you may lose some of the desired hardness.

Thanks, I'll try to make that a priority. With 5 little ones, and a house to take care of, things that I want to do somehow seem to get pushed to the bottom of the stack!

From work and after they're in bed only...
