Blade presents Knives 2021

Wait a year or two, and pick them up secondhand. Most of the articles are pretty ho-hum now, and while it's nice to have an address reference for makers, some of the addresses listed are wrong, or in the worst cases, the makers have been dead or retired for years. The photos are good though.

The best years for that book were the Ken Warner years. He was a real knife (and gun) man, and that shined through in the articles picked and care he had as editor.

Edit - here's a decent preview, so you can see what the articles, etc.... are like in the modern editions -

I got one. It was OK. Gave it away and never got another. I think that was pre-Blade ownership of the series. In general Blade sux, I let my subscription lapse.

I have been a subscriber for years. Some of the articles are of indifferent quality l some are excellent. In general I think Blade does a great job in threading a needle in an increasingly difficult environment. They have to sell advertising, provide content and keep things moving when fewer and fewer people are buying magazines.

I just realized that there is a "special deal" where you can get the Knives 2021 and a one year sub to Blade for $40. I may have to do that! Thanks!
