This will be my first Blade Show and I was wondering if there is a good reason to have a significant amount of cash at the show or if the vendors generally take credit cards or checks. I know that a private sale may go better with cash but other than that can a person get buy with a credit card?

Also if anyone else has any questions or suggestions about “learning the ropes” for Blade I like to hear them. I’m only going to be there for one full day - late in the show - so I’m not going to be the part of any Hog stampedes. But I’m sure others would be interested in that.

Guyon was going to post this thread but he has been too busy spending time with his new pal Bert.:p ;)

If you plan to buy any handmades the cash will help alot. If going for factory knives the CC will do but cash could still help you out if you are buying from a small dealer.

If you have never been I would try to do the whole show...it is amazing but takes a long time to see. Know your coming mainly for the good food and to meet some folk, but I think you would enjoy much of the show if you can find the time.

Hope to see you there!

Ditto what Ken44 said, no one is going to turn down cash, but they might CCs. Some of the smaller guys will only take cash, especially the ones that don't have tables. Too bad you will only be there part of a day, I couldn't handle that short of a time there!

Thanks Ken & Ducci,

I'll be there for one full day, my post wasn't too clear about that. I do wish I could do more but since I have been off work for a while I have to fit this in between some work trips I need to make and also my annual trip (#15) to No. Calif to see my old bike racing buddies (although now I think we may drink more beers than miles we ride.)

I do look forward to Blade and matching up faces with names:thumbup:

Don't have tables? Do they walk around selling knives out of their shoulder bag?

One more question/comment.

I'm going to try and print out my avatar photo and use it for a name tag. So if you notice some nut with a photo of a black cat on his shirt please say hello.

I'll be the guy out in the parking lot scuffling with Bert_G. :D :p

Shhhhhhhhh!!!!! It is done discreetly inside the show or outside the doors and in the hotel "PIT".

I don't wanna start comparing BLADE shows to DEAD shows... But THAT sounds familiar... LMAO :D:cool:

Oh and other important questions:

Does anyone know how much scotch you can take onto a flight in a carry on?  I recall after some bomb scare that you couldn't carry any liquids onto a flight. Does anyone know if that is still the case?

Are there any restrictions on the purchase of alcohol in Atlanta? I may need to buy a bottle when I get there.

The PIT is the area behind the dining tables in the lobby. It is a sunken area, hence the name.

I'll be getting my refreshments after I arrive.
