I'm rotating through my old knives and I'm looking to get something new. Which would you guys prefer for a user knife, an Endura, a Griptilian, or a Sage? I love them all I just don't know about which people prefer.

Personally, I think the Sage is a fantastic knife and at a good price. The Endura is a great knife too, if you decide to get this buy the ZDP blade, it is one of the absolute best Spyderco knives ever. The MiniGrip is also a nice knife, hard to go wrong with any choices and I understand your predicament. ;)

The Griptilian line-up has never really held any fascination for me so I don't have one, but I do have an SE Endura 4 and a Sage 1--both are solid choices, imo.

I have been carrying a mini-grip 555BKHG for awhile now. It's a very solid knife and I like its' smaller size for EDC. You have a nice dilemma. Maybe you could get more than one and rotate them in your daily line-up.

Griptilian is the only one I've got. I have no interest in the Endura, but I've thought about the Sage. Love my Griptilian though. I've got the Ritter version with stonewashed blade, and I made my own custom G10 handle, and it's the only knife that can ever kick my HTM out of my pocket.

I dont own a sage, but I have a benchmade 550 and an endura4 ZDP (FFG). Even though I like ZDP steel better, overall I prefer the benchmade 550 to the endura4.

If you are willing to spend sage money, I would also take a look at the spyderco caly 3.5, para2 and benchmade 746.

When I wore modern knives (before I got up by the traditional virus) I prefered the BM Grippi before the Spyderco Modells. It was nothing special about the blade shape, but I liked the thicker handles more to work with than the thin Spyderco uses.

Kind regards

Quick question, which of the sages is your favorite? I honestly love the looks of the sage 1 but I know people who love all 4 versions.

I don't have a Griptilian, but I do have a Sog Spec Elite (in pieces now...). Between that lock style and the lousy lockup on Delica 4 and my three Endura 4's the BM all the way. My Byrd Cara 2's lock up ok (G10 better than FRN, both better than the Enduras), but some folks want to spend more on a knife.

Spyderco Lover, you can't cheat with a Benchmade! :)

Just giving you a hard time.

If you can check out the Manix 2 from Spyderco, they also make an XL version. I'm in love with both, and have Enduras to compare.

Those are all great knives.
But considering your name, spyderco lover, perhaps you should try out a Mini Grip and experience the Axis lock if you haven't already.

My all time favorite is the Sage2. Very clean and well done. For the money, you really do get great materials and craftsmanship. In second place is the Sage4, beautiful wood and a fantastic lock, it really feels almost as good as a custom.

Out of the choices above I believe I would opt for the Endura. This model IMO has a great deal to offer for a lighter use EDC if you purchase it with the fully flat ground blade however if you desire a bit more strength and durability you could get it with the standard sabre ground blade and have a slightly harder use EDC blade however for me I'm not to bad about abusing or "roughing up" my folders and tend to go with lighter, sharper blade grinds so I'd personally go with the FFG Endura also the FFG's handle comes in a small variety of nifty colors.

Honestly I just don't dig the manix's blade shape or weight

I've tried the axis lock with a 940, which is an okay knife but I don't like the slim handle, the short chord of blade, or the aluminum scales.

I would go with the Endura for a working EDC. It depends on your needs but I think the combo edge sabre grind Endura is on of the most versatile knives made for EDC. You have plenty of straight edge for normal knife stuff and enough serrations to rip through anything that gets in your way!
