I'm not sure if this was already covered but...

I was looking at Benchmade's warranty form yesterday and noticed that the cost for blade replacement has increase from $25 - $30 for satin and $35 - $40 for black.

That is all.

Well, let's look at it two ways.

1. Our money is worth the same and the price required to make the blade has gone up.
2. Our money has decreased in value and the blades remains the same value.

I feel that it's been a while since prices changed. Inflation does devalue money slowly. Benchmade is also offering more premium steels that do cost more. The fact you can get a new chunk of m390, d2 or s90v ground to shape and sharpened for $30 is great. Let's not forget the most important part here. BENCHMADE WILL REPLACE BLADES! Not all the famous companies around here do that.

Very well put. I agree completely and love BKC's policy of guarantee. It worth every penny you spent on blade replacement.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I greatly appreciate Benchmade's policy of replacing blades and free clip replacement.

I wasn't complaining in any way. Just making others aware because the prices are often quoted here and didn't want others to give wrong prices.

I never meant to imply complaining. No one took it that way. :)

I just noticed this today. In fact, I even called to make sure the s90v was the same price.

I did not know this so thanks for the heads-up!

As someone who has been pretty critical regarding Benchmade's MAP policy, I can totally understand the price increase. Their blade replacement prices have been the same for a very long time (a decade maybe?), and in recent time they are using more exotic steels that are more expensive to purchase and probably take more time to prepare from start-to-finish. I imagine the cost of shipping also factored into this equation given it's gotten even more expensive as of late and BM has always footed that bill for their customers.
