Has anyone replaced the blade in either a 127UH or 227UH? I have 1 each that needs blade replacement. I cannot see the pen in the bolster to knock it out with a punch. Seeing as these are USA made knives I do not want to destroy them.
Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Rick

Do you have "donor" knives? I'm curious what you would replace the blades with. Uncle Henry knives went out of business in 2004.

There are a few of each model for sale on Ebay. And a few 227's for sale in the "buy" section of allaboutpocketknives.com.

If you're especially fond of those models, purchasing replacement knives might be a lot easier than trying to replace the blades.

No donor knives but replacement blades from vintage stock on ebay. Not especially fond just trying to keep to original design

You may have better luck asking in the traditional section. Depending on what vintage your knife is, it may be swindon key construction so it would not have a pivot pin.

THIS.

The U.S. made knives before they went to a large Asian had the Swindon Key construction, and you're opening a can of worms if you've never worked with that before.

One suggestion is to contact Bill Deshivs at billdeshivs.com. He is a highly regarded knife repairman. I don't know if he has experience working on Uncle Henry knives, but he does work on other older model Schrade folding knives. It might be worth an email.

He charges $90 an hour for his work.
