I drove by Blade Runner in Tucson today. The shop was closed and had a sign up saying new ownership, renovation underway, and that it would reopen in September.

Does anyone have any more info on this?

Is Richard still around? Is he doing any sharpening?

I'd like to hear more, too. Richard is one of the most knowledgeable knife people I've ever met, and BladeRunner was the best brick and mortar knife store I ever found. First discovered Bladerunner when my folks retired down there 20+ years ago, and I stopped in there every time we went down to visit. Some of my best knives came from across Richard's counter: Marble's Campcraft (2), Woodcraft (1) and others.

Richard is retiring. I have not met the new owner but hear he is a young man with big plans, including internet sales. Richard ,i think, will be around for the transition.

I stopped by today. Richard is still around and will be for a while. Shop has been polished up a bit with nice new paint and floor tile. Same good vibe. Chatted briefly with the new owner.
