I tried a recommended way to hand sand a blade that works. Try "Cool Tool" It is a lubricant for drilling milling ect. sold in most catalogs for knives. Just a couple of drops on wet/dry sand paper and in no time deep grinding marks are gone. Presto! At least Im impressed. Bruce

Bruce-

I've been using the stuff for a while now and love it. I bought a jug from Travers for like $9 or something and it's gonna last a LONG time.

Baby oil works pretty well too, but I like the CoolToolII and I have too much to not use it.

Bruce,

I use 'Cool Tool' for drilling, but still think that plain old WD40 works just as well for hand sanding.

Hey, is cool tool thin enough to spray through a regular spray bottle? Is that the same stuff they use on industrial bandsaws while cutting large steel stock?

I think it will spray. I may be thinned first with something like wd40? I bet it will work well on grinding belts also. Maybe messy but fast cutting. It works good on hardened steel for regrinding after heat-treating.
