We got a new scanner the other day and I have been trying to scan a couple of my knives. I was wondering if anyone could give any tips on making a quality scan. So far the ones I have scanned make a great image of the handle, but the blade is dark. If anything I would have thought glare on the blade would be a problem, but not so. Thanks to all.

From what I hear (I've actually never used my scanner for knives) a mirror polished blade will always come up black on a scan, so there's not much you can do. Good luck!

Did you try putting a dark cloth over the top?

Post one of your scans so we can see what's going on.

the blade needs to be totally CLEAN of fingerprints and other oils, and as close to the glass as possible
