:D hello there guys! i need to know what type of blade sharpener should i get for cqc 12 and cqc 7? v grind and chisel? any recommendation? thank u very much

a30---I'd use the stone method of sharpening. Practice first with a pos knife. You'll get some more ideas soon.

yeah go to www.emersonknives.com and follow the tutorial on sharpening and ya will have -0- problems with a bit of practice.

i usually use a norton soft india to raise the burr then a gerber steel to strop it, it seems to get it a bit sharper than cardboard or a leather strop, for me anyway.

You can use a Sharpmaker with Emerson's chisel grinds, just a little differently. I keep the sticks in the 40º slots.
At first I was using the left-side stick, knife angled parallel to the right-side stick, like this:

and this works great but it's a PITA to hold so I rigged up something.

I rigged up a piece of wood to hold up the Sharpmaker to get the right-side stick perpendicular to the ground. Now I just hold the blade perpendicular to the ground, like you would normally with the Sharpmaker, and do 15-20 swipes down the left-side stick. Then, a quick one or two swipes down the right stick and done!
