Blade Show 2012 is just about six weeks away. Some are already completing knives so
I guess it’s time to post the thread
.

We would sure appreciate pre-views of any BLADE bound knives makers care to share. Even if you post photos
in a separate thread, please post them here as well. For future reference, it's very convenient to have all
'2012 BLADE Show knives in one thread.

If anyone has trouble posting your photos, please feel free to e-mail them to me and I will try to get them posted up:

I generally star off with either Jerry Fisk or Kyle Royer depending who has knives ready and photographed.

So here's Jerry first knife of 3 he will have for Blade Show.

This Sendero has a wolf tooth Damascus pattern blade that is approx. 5 inches long. The framed handle has
fossil walrus ivory and the stainless guard and pins has engraved attempts by maker.

This knife will slice a ham so thin the in-laws will not come back to visit for a long time.

I am with you Karl. Feverishly working on a couple of large knives and a couple of smaller ones. One is a big dagger based on a 1700's design. I will post when it gets closer.

Two Hunters Kyle is deliverying at Blade Show.
The blades are 5 ½” long and the fittings are stainless steel and silicon bronze. There is one domed bronze pin in each handle. The handles are of ebony and ironwood.

I've been ready for this thread for months!! Please keep em coming!! :)

My first two will be a hunter and a fighter made from my first bar of twist that I made with "Mr. Twister."!
These two will be a high layer that I will call "Maiden Hair".

I've made a ton of twist Damascus - but none like this!

That's cool Karl, I'd love to see that beast in action!

Karl,

Mr. Twister looks like he started life as a Ridgid 300 pipe machine.

I am starting to lean toward skipping Blade again this year. I didn't make arrangements yet and its crunch time. I don't have spending money either, so it might be worth it to wait another year. Well see what happens I guess. This is always a great thread. I like the Fisk and the Royers much.

I've decided to wait til next year too, hope you get there Jon it will be a pleasure meeting you. Got some irons in the fire in preparation, I wanna make it pay.

I'll have to skip this year's BLADE too as I am too busy working
on my next two books:
"The Art Knives and Knife Engraving of Julie Warenski-Erickson"
and "The World of Art Knives II".

One will be for the end of 2012 the other for the end of 2013.

Will be strange not being at the BLADE Show coming June...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)
