No natural handle material is going to hold up like micarta or G-10.
I would suggest that if you're going to pound the sand out of your knife that you buy a much less expensive combat grade version and lose what's left of your mind on it. . . . They like it you know. . . . I mean they really like it!!!. . . . :thumbup:
