Yesterday UPS brought me a box I was not expecting. It was a Custom Shop Gen5, CPM154, Maple Burl. I and a couple of others, recieved this knife as a gift from Buck/BCCI as a first time exhibter at the Atlanta Blade show 2009 last May. (Special thanks to Joe H.) I appreciate the gift for my efforts in going to the show. Let me encourage you to think about doing the same yourself.

Where else can you stand beside 25 to 30 other knife people that know and talk Buck knives. Where else can you sit down with David Yellowhorse and Joe Houser and just you three spend 15 minutes talking. Where else are you going to be beside your group of knives and Chuck Buck and CJ Buck stop by to shake your hand and talk knives. Everyone there is glad you came no matter whether you bring a exhibit or just show up to look around. You really are considered a Buck Brother.

The West coast show thats a close second to the Blade show is just a few days away. You should think about attending that almost-offical meeting of the western Buck Brothers. Whether displaying or just attending. There are a couple of other shows BCCI puts up it's banner also, check on the BCCI websit for that information.

If you got the guts to ask for help, if you got the time to fix your knives into a display, large or small, if you are willing to travel to either location and spend the time, you will be welcomed and have a good time.

I am planning on fixing up my small display even better, having learned from the other Brothers, and return to Blade Show 2010. Why don't some of you think about attending a show as part of BCCI or even putting a display together. Contact club president John Foresman ask him how to get started.

COOL 300Bucks! I stopped by the BCCI display area the last two years and I agree. Great folks to talk knives with, and incredible knives to see.

I had a couple of my knives to show and I would probably make a display, but riding my motorcycle is my preferred means of transportation, and it just isn't practical to try and carry too many knives or a display.

300 you put in to words very well what it is like to be at a BCCI show!
me and clinton , charley , richard are going to the one in
lake land the gater show
this will be my 2ed and his 3ed rich and charle are relatives
wow i hope jest darrel shows up
i got a pint jar of shed juice to give him or share with every..
Leroy recommends it..

Peter, I've seen some decent trailers behind motorcycles that could easily carry a 40-50
knife display . These BIG shows must be very different than the ones I attend as I'm the only one that has ever displayed within 300 miles . As a result people quiz me like I'm some kind of outsider that just doesn't know the rules yet . DM

Plumber, I just received a letter from Rusty (Russ Donoghue) this week (wed.) and in it he tells me that he's getting ready to leave for Pasadena CA.. So perhaps this weekend .
E-mail John Foresman I'd bet he could confirm this . DM

I'm goin to that one but it isn't until March 19th. I went last year and met up with Rusty there. Here's a link.

I'm probably going to that one also. I planned on going last year, but my wife's condition made that impossible. If I remember right, Rusty didn't make that one either.

I have thought about it. I think some Buck nuts are like me and have a little bit of everything, but not a lot of just one theme. The BCCI does ask what type of knives you are bringing.

I have about 6 100's, 6 112's, lots of 300's and 500's dating back to 1975, the 700's, about a dozen high tech knives, some limited knives like WBC & Yellowhorse and a good bit of fixed blades. In other words a decent mix of stuff. I am not sure that is what John Foresman is looking for.

When you brought your knives, did you have a theme? My guess would be the 300 knives, I don't know why I would think that?;)

According to an e-mail that I received from Rusty, there will only be two Buck displayers at Pasadena. Table space is very limited there, I believe they only had room for two last year also. It's not a big show, but I want to go to just hang out with them more than any other reason.

Guys, there are big displays and little displays. It's all about making a nice presentation of what you got. Zip tied knives on an old piece of plywood won't cut it.
Look at the link for the photos from 09 show. You can make a decent 3' X 4' upright display with half a dozen knives. Its about adding extras to your knives, like old photos out of magizines, catalogs, advertising stuff. Maybe you have 6 stag handle knives, you show some pics of deer of the world, a chunk of antler, etc. Nice printing of any written matieral, nicely finished wood or other display plaque material. You will fit right in and feel good about being there. Email John Foresman for basic info and he can recommend someone you can contact to help you figure out a display. Almost all of the long time displayers will be glad to help you get started. Don't give up, its not rocket science. AND then you bring it home and hang it on your wall so YOU can have a nice thing to show your friends and relatives.

Peter, you could do a Buck Knives, variety is the spice of life display. Show how Buck makes a knife that will make just about anyone happy......

some of the BCCI wining displays have very few knifes!
and very creative ideas on passing on information on a topic
some few like 300's have a fantastic blend of data and knives
and very eye catching Self Made displays!
some like mine (now) are overwhelming (200 knives)
with the viewers reciveing very little information
as to what they are looking at ( have to work on that more)

but some like Bucksway's are a simple self made case
(his is apx 32x40) with each knife having a tag with info for that knife

Most of the BCCI displayes have a theme but it is not necessary
some have jest the knives they like separated
in to groups of like knives kinda of like mini themes
go to these links to see some of the displays
you would have been able to see at the shows had you been there
