Whew man you got around I am so jealous. Pat Crawford sure had a lot of his folders!! I can't wait till some of the leftovers make it up this way.

Thanks for the pics. I have'nt been to the Blade Show since the late 80s when it was held in Knoxville. Funny how folks have gotten gray or bald since those day's.

I am in Texas and will most likely not ever have a chance to make blade show. Your pics are almost like being there. Makes me want to go that much more. It would be nice to meet some of the makers in person. Do they offer any shows worth going to in the Dallas Ft worth metro plex?

I was there today. Good show. I was impressed! Not enough photos though to capture the spirit of the show. Tomorrow should be an interesting day.

Atleast you can drive there, if you have the time and gas money. Try doing that from New Zealand!:D

Jay-Both of the shows listed below are worth going to. Of course they aren't anything like the Blade Show in Atlanta but there are still a lot of great knifemakers at both of these Texas shows. (The links below might be of some interest to you.)

I was impressed with the new manual flippers used on the Kershaw JunkYard Dog (also 2), and RJ Martin Groove -
in actual use they flip out as if they were (spring) assisted openers - in fact I thought initially they were (spring) assisted openers.

Ken Onion called them "UNassisted assist" - very apt - since the finger "loads up" on tension overcoming the ball-bearing detent - and when the blade passes - it flips out from that - somewhat like a (spring) assisted opener - except by (loaded) finger pressure only - very clever.

see this thread -

Kershaw Junk Yard Dawg Pictures...

The other knives I liked the looks of were the Mcusta knives from Seki, Japan - especially those folders using VG-10 core with 33-layer Damascus - and they also seemed really well priced.
