Nice shots and I see what you like on that knife, looks quite comfy and very useful!

Vincent,

Thanks for the pics, and congrats on your knife - quite a deal!

Probably the best knife deal at the show. Incredible purchase.

What camera, what ISO? Flash?

What camera, what ISO? Flash?

thanks Coop,

For the knife -
Pentax K-x dSLR with 18-55mm kit lens, no flash
ISO200, f/7.1, 1/320sec, 35mm (equiv 52mm)
ISO200, f/11, 1/125sec, 23mm (equiv 34mm)
taken outdoors on big sheet of white paper -
cloudy bright - 7pm -
so there was a pretty pronounced & horrible blue cast.

I had to use select white point in post processing to correct the color cast - that's why the sheath is a different shade/tint in the the two photos - too lazy to correct for that as well.

Photos of knifemakers were mostly with Canon PowerShot G10 compact - slow-sync flash, on Tv (shutter priority) set at 1/20sec
ISO200 - almost all shots were at the widest angle 6mm (=28mm equiv) and wide open at f/2.8.

The 3 Swiss Army Knife demo by Victorinox were on the Pentax K-x dSLR, no flash and 50-200 kit zoom
ISO1600, 2000 and 1250 respectively all handheld.

Outdoors shots like the forging demo and the Tameshigiri/Japanese Sword cutting were all on the Pentax K-x dSLR, no flash
ISO200 (it was bright), Tameshigiri all on the 18-55 zoom; forging was 50-200 zoom.

All these other photos had no special/extra post processing -
other than the usual adjustments to brightness/contrast and a little sharpening.
