I've just seen the first of Curt's knives for the show, with more to come. Words really failed me when I first saw it, so rather than show the entire knife (you KNOW it's embellished, huh?), I think it makes more sense, at least on this "theme" piece, to begin with only part of it - you'll understand, I think:

Materials: Marble, steel, gold, gems, etc.

Ah a teaser thread...I like it. Looks like the knife has a "grape" theme?? The pommel looks great now show us the rest of the knife....please?

Marcel, let me put it to you this way - you ain't seen NOTHIN' yet. I'll see what can be put together that would work, though it will probably not be until later this evening before it can be done. The idea on this particular piece (Curt's & Julie's idea, not mine) had been to not show much of it at all, until the show. But if that's what you want, I will work on making it happen.

And this probably won't be the only jaw dropper - I'm already trying to figure out how to show the next one, which is one of my real favorites - a damascus dagger with........well, you'll see later.

Marcel, there are a couple of limiting factors right now on what I can show, so here is another part of the whole, obviously some of the sheath. The sheath throat, not completely shown, has gold beading all the way around it.

Bob

EDIT: I mentioned something above about "limiting factors". The shows Curt and Julie have been attending, prior to Blade, were very restrictive about allowing any viewing of the knives prior to shows, so there's a tendency at the moment toward holding back a bit, waiting for the show itself befofe showing some or part of the knives. I do know for a fact that at least one (of my favorites) will be shown in full.

I've displayed many of my own Ericksons, B Warenskis and J Warenskis on Blade Forums, in complete form - and many that are owned by others - but never have any new ones, until now, been shown prior to any of tbeir shows. I think there will be enough "stuff" to draw some interest, in any case.

Bob, I said this on another Forum but I'll say it again as I did not get
an answer to my question...

Julie is AMAZING! And on Curt's SPECTACULAR "canvas" - it becomes
an outstanding collaboration!!

Bob, in this case is it a special commission for some King,
somewhere in the orient?

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Really makes me want to see the rest of the piece. Looks fantastic so far.

No, David, this one was actually made for Blade. Sometime today, very soon, I will get another piece of the puzzle posted here - but two cups of coffee are mandatooooooory or I luz my typing skills. In a bit.

Best,

Bob

Now that I've had my coffee, here is another glimpse of part of the piece we are currently reviewing, emblazoned with gemstones, gold, etc - and as David Darom has mentioned, fit for a king, but only available at Blade.

EDIT: Here's a recap of the "parts" for now:

Very nice, are those rubies?? Love the engraving.

Marcel

Marcel, until you had asked this question, it had been decided that no more information would be made available until Blade.

HOWEVER, I was able to extract this much detail - the ensemble contains "diamonds, rubies and rhodolite garnets".

The "package" that has already been shown - at least several parts of it - are all we are going to see, because the entire piece itself won't be shown until the Blade Show.

I do know that one damn fine damascus dagger will be shown in it's entirety. But not just yet. First, here is a small piece of a four-piece metal sheath. It's the top throat section. This is but a small sample of something of much bigger scale and precedent. But it's hopefully a start, though I am not at all sure the entire sheath will be shown - it may be hidden away until Blade. Here it is:

OK, here is a part of some walrus ivory Curt carved, with pommel. This piece isn't at all related to the small piece of sheath above. I'll have all the pics of this complete dagger handle and pics of the full dagger soon. It is just about my personal favorite of the bunch.

Some of the material types on this dagger won't be revealed until the Blade Show.

These Erickson/Warenski knives are always JAWDROPPINGLY nice! Lots and lots of details.

Can't wait to see the complete knives!

Kind regards,

Jos

Alrighty, then, Jos - here is another piece of the puzzle on piece #2 - a peek at what is revealed to be, obviously, a damascus dagger. This piece will be made whole in image sometime later today, more than likely - along with a close-up of the entire handle.

Stephen, this one that you've mentioned happens to be one of my favorites, so I am delighted to be able to show the dagger in it's entirety.

For those who are interested, here are complete images of the damascus dagger. Not sure which full shot I liked the most, so I included both.

Hope you enjoy.
