Main street in 'Buck Town" Joe Houser in lower left corner, see the rumors were wrong, he is not going bald......

Single row Buck displays, backs up main street

Other single row of Buck display on other side. Gives us a total of four rows of tables. The biggest club display at the Blade Show by a large margin.

Here is Buck Town"Sheriff" Russ Donoghue in front of his display, holding up the cover of the BCCI Club history book he just authored

Under the 'Buck Town' Banner, BCCI Pres John Foresman talks to C.J. Buck and Gene Merritt.

There is hope for the future, Mr. Conner Danskin traveled all the way from Manhattan Beach, CA. You CA guys need to email him at cdanskin@hotmail.com and send him any good extra knife you have for his beginning collection.

Here is photo of Overall Blade Show collection display winners. L to R : Jimmy Holbrook, Bill Adams Not a club member who displayed WWII knives, Larry Oden and Gene Merritt. Mr. Adams and Larry Oden tied for Best of Show........

Here is CJ giving Connor his Novice collector award.

300, Thank you for the photos and write-up. Who did you borrow the ladder from? I think I saw Pat H. in one of the pictures. Conner has the 25yr. model 124 on his table. Wow! The good stuff. DM

I noticed the 25th 124. There is another one in front of C.J. when he is making the award to Conner. The appears to be one of the 25th, 110's in front of C.J. as well. Can't see it very well but that's what it looks like.

Yes, I wasn't sure if that was 'the' 25yr. 110 or not but looking again it could be. Man, I wish we had a good photo of it. DM

Take a look at the stacks of boxes on the table in front of C.J. On top of the 5th stack from the left there looks to be a 110 with white/bone scales with some kind of scrimshaw or design on the scales???? Least it looks like a 110 to my eye. Like you say, I'd love a few close-ups of some of those items.

Thanks 300Bucks!! Love the picture!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Dang, I have to try harder to work it out to get to Atlanta for the show.

I think I see a hint of blue on maybe a 110 just to the right of the 124 in the Conner award picture...it's right in front of C.J.

That looks like a good time for everyone with all the Buck collectors gathered there.

I saved the picture and blew it up. That's for sure a 25th Anniversary 110.

Here's one to look at while I work up some photos. I can only post ten at a time per BF limits. 300

Michael Delvin - Painted Ponies

Brent and Dee Schindewolf - Buck Handles

Yours truly - 300 series Don't give up, still working on Buck to build a fancy steel or at least scaled 301.

I THINK THAT IS EVERYONE WHO DISPLAYED

As you can see, if you feel attracted for a nice weekend sometime a knife show can be a fancy display or a simple display. The main thing is to go !
Help in designing and building a display is available , look up some how too's by Larry Oden. Help by asking on the BCCI website or here is another method. One starting point is look at the photos and see that most all 'competition' displays have a specific theme or are of single models or types. You can just show your knives if you want and not get too fancy. Good cases are for the protection of your knives from walking off. Shows have been mainly on both coast's but middle US efforts are underway. I have been talking with other BCCI folks on going to show in DFW(TX) and putting up a banner. Maybe that could work for some. Don't be bashful, contact myself, Larry Oden or John Foresman for additional information. You can have my Blade show table next year and I will just take photos.....300

Next is BCCI meeting and awards. Plus a few more general show photos.

Here is Dee Schindewolf, who did most of the club table tending. Plus made that quilt in the background that will be auctioned off in Idaho. Larry Oden and John Foresman in shot also. Storms broke powerpoles on Friday night at the Schindewolf's house so they went home to a 48+ hour thawed freezer....

Here is photo of Conner getting his award for writing the best story in the youth newsletter contest.

Bucktown Sheriff Russ Donoghue gets a hug from Doris Shoopmon, with Charlie's approval, Tim Lindsey looks like he needs one also....

Club business has to occur, here President Foresman and Treasurer Pat Donovan give a report on the clubs financial status.

CJ Buck giving club members information about governmental knife regulations and efforts by knife organizations. Also talks about Buck and answers any questions.

That's a part of Frank's display I haven't seen. C.H. yours looks more polished that I've seen  . A lot of fine collections brought to the show. Thanks go out to all our Buck Collectors for displaying. 300, thanks for all these quality photos of all our folks. DM

Terrific pictures Craig. I love how you have the people involved as the focal point of the photos. The displays show up well too, but I love seeing the folks involved and be able to put a face with the name.

PHOTOS OF CLUB AWARD WINNERS

I realize some may not care to see photos of just folks with no knives in the scene. Please bare with me. this is part of displaying your knives and building a presentation that impresses. In some cases it might be their only time to go to the front of the room, or like young Conner something to look back on.
I will try to put names to the photos but I didn't write down what category they won for. As you will see there are several categories.

Here CJ Buck is congratulating Jimmy Holbrook and Russ Donoghue

Club Award to Brent Schindewolf

Club Award to Dave Robinson and Frank Jones, I believe the Newcomers Award

Club Award to Gene Merritt

Club Award to John Foresman

Club Award to Joe Houser

Club Award for best Tactical display to Brian Hugh

Club Award to Russ Donoghue

Club Award to Frank Jones

And a Club Youth Award to Conner Danskin

Club award to Tim Lindsey

Club award to Larry Oden

Coming up in late July is the BCCI 25th Celebration in Idaho, at the factory. If you can come I will swear you will have a good time. If you can't try to make one of the knife shows east or west where BCCI is making a showing and join in. If Mr. Connor can show a few nice knives so can you. You will be welcomed. I may try to go to the show in VA next spring, so come meet me there or at the Blade Show. You never can tell I may get one started for the SW U.S. and you can join in with a dozen other BladeForum members. See you in Idaho. 300Bucks.

Thanks again Craig. Glad to see Dave Meier was able to sneak a display in and find table space. DM

Craig, I for one also love seeing the displays. I've seen pictures from other shows (not from you) that just mainly showed pictures of tables covered with stacks of knives in their boxes. Heck, I can see that at home.

Great to see that you have both the displays and people in your photos.

I'm also glad to see that the Youth Award was given out. I bought one Youth Award knife that wasn't given out at the show because there were no Youth's attending with displays.

Thank you so much 300, for this exemplary photojournalism! Your professional presentation showcased the faces to go with the names of some very dedicated collectors and their stellar displays. It's hard for me to get away for such events, but you have made me feel like I was almost there! Well done Sir!:thumbup:
