There will be a few minor changes for you INFI HOGs at BLADE Show 2017. We will not be tossing tags into the crowd this year as the floor plan has been changed without notice and instead of having 35 foot of open space in front of our booth like the past 2 years, they have reduced the space to a 10 feet aisle! There simply is not enough room for the 4 billion HOGs who typically gather in front of the BUSSE Blade Show trough for the offerings. So, we will instead have "Sloppings". What does that mean HOG farmer Jerry? Well, it means that we will only be slopping (that's "feeding" for you city folks) the HOGs twice during the entire show! We will load the table continuously on Friday afternoon until all of the allotted knives for Friday are gone and then we will do the same on Saturday morning until all of the knives are gone!
The knives that are coming to BLADE this year are amazing! Just goes to show you that if you do something for 35 years, you will inevitably catch on!!!! The boys in the Crab Shack have knocked it out of the park this year! The Crab Shack is what we call the small group of old codgers who lock themselves away in the Busse Custom Shop and make the amazing handles that adorn the killer cool Busse Custom Shop blades that will be debuting in Atlanta.
Sadly, I will not be attending BLADE Show this year due to a conflict of interest. That's code for I have two scrub knees and was told that I need to stay off of them as much as possible. The 12 hour drive each way would certainly mummify me for weeks. I am really bummed about this turn of events and the decision to sit this one out was not made until this morning! Imagine all of your friends going to the greatest party of the year and then not being able to go! Serious bummer! Dan and Garth suggested duct taping roller skates to my feet, wrapping me in bubble wrap, and then letting everyone shove me around like a rolling piñata! Oh sure, it sounds like fun unless you're Captain Bubble Wrap, in which case. . . not so much!! So drink in my honor HOGs and know that I'll be here drinking in yours!
We will not be gathering at Fuddruckers on Friday this year but will, instead, be focusing all of our drinking. . . .errr. . . I mean fun. . . . on the HOG induction dinner at Jock and Jill's on Saturday night.
For those who are unfamiliar with the induction dinner at Jocks and Jill's, here's a quick run down. The Busse induction dinner is pretty much our way of showing our appreciation for all of you loyal porkers, rats, and dogs. It is a family friendly gathering with tons of food and drink for all. We give away Thousand$ of dollars in shop credits and have a great time doing it! The longest cigar ash contest alone will have nearly $2,000 worth of prizes! We pick up the tab for all of the food and non-alcoholic drinks you can pork away!! There is a full cash bar for those who want to hit the spirits and beer trail!
So if you're already a HOG, Dog, or Rat, or are eligible for induction, be sure to pick up your free tickets at the Busse booth for the dinner. Just ask for Garth and he will get you taken care of!
Let's Drink!!!
