Blade show 2019

Get a VIP ticket to get in at 12:00 (be in line no later than 10:00 AM Friday morning), otherwise you'll have to wait until 2:00. In the past the drawing has been around 3:00 or so. Bring plenty of cash, few take cards.

Like JB said, lots of cash. Lots of opportunities there that you'd hate to miss out on because you only brought cards or not enough cash. If you see something you really want, buy it instantly because it likely won't be there if you decide to think on it or "come back later." It's a fast and furious pace with the smaller table vendors with all of the foot traffic, but you can find some real hidden gems in the mayhem. Bring a good bag that you can easily put your 10lbs of free swag into, water, comfortable shoes, and your pain killer of choice. It's a lot to take in and there are always booths I forget to visit, but it'll be a blast. Lots of raffles and gaws, can't wait.

Good advice. As soon as Blade has the vendor and maker layout up print it out and draw a route to each maker's table, popular makers sell out in minutes, some use lottery, some bring a few knives to show but none for sale. It can get confusing (it's that big) with the aisle and table numbers. You will see some guys running (literally) to some tables.

I usually get there on Thursday, Friday (especially after lunch) is a madhouse. The Friday ATL traffic is as bad as it gets without the Blade show in town.

Find out where everyone is congregating for drinks on Thursday night, and you can make some deals before they even get to the tables. On Friday morning, definitely start on the custom side. Those are the knives that when they're gone, they're really gone.
