Having handled a couple of knives that passed the JS test in the mid to late 90's I can tell you that the standards/requirements for JS have change DRASTICALLY. A lot of that happened in the middle of the last decade.Don't have names but 2 of 2 earned MS and 5 of 7 earned JS. We (I assisted Coop all weekend) shot 4 of the 5 JS five-knife sets and they were all very high-level. Some went well beyond minimum JS requirements - a significant risk since a flawed reach that way can result in not passing. ABS JS requirements haven't changed but candidates themselves have been raising the bar on their own. Not all passing JS candidates received unanimous votes by the judges, BTW.
