I have been looking at Andy's Bushboot for a long time and drooling. I decided that I would have to get one at Blade. The problem is that my beautiful wife's birthday was today (Saturday.) Well after much begging and pleading on my part I was able to convince her to go to the show for a short time so that I could at least get to handle one of the Bushboots. (Actually it wasn't that hard, she was fine with going after being told it wouldn't be an all day thing.) She is a keeper that's for sure.

So we get to the show and I visited a couple of other tables. Then I decide to visit Andy's table. I was hesitant to go because I was afraid the knife I wanted would be gone. I had been looking at this thread and I was hoping to buy the blue handled Bushboot featured on page 2. Well when I got to the table the blue one was still there. Luckily I saw the Bushboot that I ended up with sitting a little below the blue handled one. This knife is a thing of beauty. It is hard to describe how nice this knife is. The pictures below do not do it justice. I liked Andy's knives before, now I think I am in love. Heck even my wife liked this knife. She usually only likes folders, so this is quite a step for her to say she likes it much less likes it a lot.

Unfortunately Andy was not at the table at that moment. I did get to meet Mr. Fletcher. Really nice helpful guy. Speaking of which he had some awesome knives on the table also. If I hadn't run out of money I would have walked away with one of his Pocket Kilos. I will be ordering one of these in the future. Anyway back on topic, since Andy was away for a couple of minutes Dylan put the knife behind the table and I continued looking around. When I got back to the table Andy was back and if you haven't met him I can tell you he is super nice. I payed for the knife and drooled over everything else on the table. The machetes are really nice. I can't wait for those to become available. Okay enough of this constant yakking. I'm sure you want to see some pictures of the knife I can't stop talking about. Here they are. Hopefully I will have some time to take some more pictures and use the knife some more tomorrow.

Very nice indeed! I had a green one in my hand last night and kept saying to myself "I've spent enough money. I've spent enough money!"

I'm glad you got it. I love my Bushboot. Looks similar to yours except it does not have the nat micarta pins. Nice touch.

Andy makes terrific knives that probably could sell for more.

Nice pics. Enjoy it.

That is beautiful! What is the inside layer? Bocote over what? Fabulous combo!

I think it is curly maple. I misplaced the tag in my hurry to use it to cut something. That and I may have had a beer or two tonight....... Sorry but I can't remember for sure right now. I have used it for all kind of stuff so far (cutting boxes, opening packages, cutting meat, carving wood, etc.) and it has become my EDC. Unfortunately I am a police officer during the week and I can't carry this type of knife at work (on me at least.) However it will be in the car. On my weekends is when I really use my knives anyway, and it will be on me the whole time. This has to be the best money I have ever spent. Now if I could get him to grind me a knife that I could carry at work I would be in heaven. ;)

Wait, what's under the knife?

Is it some kind of beer can sleeve?

It may be a beer cozy. I don't usually use them usually (the beer doesn't last long enough to need a cozy......) but it was offered and I couldn't refuse. I wish I had been thinking and gotten a second one for my wife. It would have made a good birthday gift. ;)

There also appears to be a layer of brown or natural micarta right next to the metal.

So it's three layers total.

Hey! It was great meeting you. Glad you're happy with the knife too. I wish I'd have known you were a first responder. You'd have gotten ten percent off. Next time, remind me! That is curly maple. And that liner is natural canvas micarta. Matches the pins and tube filler also.

That green one is still available. It could still be yours.

Bocote over curly Maple with nat can liner pins and bullseye filler.
