Hi, I was wondering if most folks at the show will take a credit card or do I need to bring cash?

Most credit cards will work for you in an ATM if you are buying from a knifemaker that doesn't take credit cards. Make sure you have yout PIN number. Keep in mind that if you like the knife and want to go get cash to have the knifemaker put it away so it's there when you come back for it.

Fewer than half the makers there take credit cards. Some have friends who do and will let you purchase though them, but cash always works. Most makers take checks as well.

I'm bringing foldables. If I show up with credit cards, I'd be done. Their staying at home.

Cash is the way to go. If a maker does take credit cards he has to pay a percentage to the card company. This could affect your ability to get the best deal. Also, credit cards mean a permanent written record of the transaction, which may ruin any chance of the maker not charging tax. Also, the line at the ATM at Blade last year was a mile long!

Bring plenty of cash. Some dealers, like us, do take credit cards but cash talks at most places and all else walks.

Which one of you guys is going to convince me you won't have plenty of both? Planning on sticking to some kind of budget? "I promise, dear, I'm only going to buy one knife that I really need."
